A Year of Zutter... And a Give-Away!!!

**This is cross-posted on my design gallery blog... Link under my photo on the left :) You can see more zutter projects there**

I can't believe that it's already been a year on the Zutter Design Team... It seems like just yesterday we were on our way to the Ice Cream Social at the kids' school when I checked my email and squealed loud enough to concern my husband while he was driving!!! And here we are, just over a year later having been dubbed the "OZZ" (AKA Original Zutter Zisters)

At the end of our reign, our fabulous DT leader (Nan) had the idea that we should commemorate they year with a swap... So we each designed a set of 8x8 pages with a picture of ourselves, and a collage of our favorite projects from everyone else!! What a fabulous idea!!! Our last package included a complete set of everyone's pages, and also, a DT TShirt (wrapped in a pretty name-tag, which I used on my inside cover...) and the wonderful new coveralls with the matching page protectors!!!  The new page protectors are fabulous, I have the ones that you can re-position without un-binding!!! Brilliant!!

Before I show pics of my completed book, my "Year of OZZ" Lets get to the giveaway!! Each of us who are participating will be giving away an 8x8 coverall, and a set of page protectors!! All you have to do to enter is to post a comment here on this post... I'll randomly pick a winner from all the comments on 10/26. I hope you all enjoy this project as much as I did making it!! **Don't forget to visit the other OZZ'ers blogs(their links are in the sidebar) to enter their contests as well**

I had such a wonderful time on the Zutter team!! It was my first manufacturer team, and I've spent the year making some of my most favorite projects!! I'm thrilled that we'll be staying on as OZZ, so you'll still be seeing lots of Zutter projects :) Actually, you would anyway because I love mini-books, and Zutter makes them so easy :)  Anyway, without further ado :) Here's my OZZ book :)

The newest "contraptions"

oh my goodness!!  Well, you can't ever accuse us of doing something half-way :) Yesterday I was in the car, riding home from the American Girl Store and Bistro where Kathryn, Maureen and I had a fabulous lunch and shopping spree... Mike called my cell phone, and simply asked "How much does Sean weigh?"  I told him, and he said thanks and hung up... hmmmm... cryptic :)

So, we got home, and here comes Mike and Sean in the newest contraption... It's a "trail bike" which is essentially a small bike (just back wheel) that hooks to the larger bike and works almost like a bicycle-built-for-two, but for an adult and child... My bike is among the missing, so we went and got me a bike and a trail bike for Kathryn too...

Today we went to the Nashua River Rail Trail... It's a fabulous paved trail that follows an old railroad line... Lots of space for walkers, runners, rollerbladers, bikers and horses too!!! and because we don't ever do something half-way, wound up riding 15 miles total (I can't feel my legs, but I think they'll be OK later :) )... Kathryn was pretty unsure about the whole thing in the beginning, and I'm pretty sure she didn't move her feet on the pedals even once... BUT it was so much fun!!  Here's just a couple of pics from my phone...

Getting ready to take off... THat's my fabulous new bike, and Kathryn's ride-along :)

Happy Birthday Sean!!!

I can NOT believe that my first little baby (ok, he was never really little) is 8 years old today!!! All the actual baby pics were pre-digital camera, I have a couple that I really NEED to scan... But here's a couple of older digital layouts featuring my chunky-monkey (don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks!!), and then a pic from just a couple weekends ago...

Another weekend of "Stay-Cation"

This summer we're planning to be home, and see lots of things around here (hence last weekend's venture into Boston). Well, this weened, right here in town, there was a Revolutionary War Re-Enactment!! It's the town's 275th anniversary this year, and it was part of the festivities :)  Here's just a couple pics... I have a ton more (ummm... I took 230+ photos...) I'll try to post a few more later :)

A Pot of Gold...

We had SUCH a fun weekend... We went to Boston, climbed to the top of the Bunker Hll Monument, toured the Constitution, went to Fanuel Hall, then today we went to Southwick Zoo... I have LOTS of photos to share, but had to share this one right away... It looked a little stormy on our way home, so we stopped to eat while the worst of the storm passed... then on our way home ... look what we found!!!

When I Grow Up...

I know I've been a very bad blogger :) Spring has been very busy!!! Lots of projects going on... But I had to share this story...

We were riding along in the car, and Sean piped up from the back seat... "Mom, when I grow up, I wanna be a Rock Star!"

So, I said, "Cool, sound like a fun job!!"

Kathryn says "I know what I wanna be, but I can't be what I wanna be..."

So, being "uber Mom" I immediately launch into "well, of COURSE you can grow up to be whatever you want to be!!!  It wasn't too long ago that Barack Obama wouldn't have been allowed to vote, but he's the president of the United States now... Of Course you can be anything!!!"

I wait a minute, and say "Honey, what did you want to be when you grow up?"

Her answer: "A Mermaid"

ummmm... well, hmmmm, OK, maybe you can't be a MERMAID... ummmm...  We can take swimming lessons, and learn to swim like a mermaid :) Note to Self: I need to wait before I launch into the speech :)

So she decided... Now she's going to be either a Princess or a Fairy...  Ok :)

I loved my Gram...

I lost my Gram this morning...  She was 97 and I think the spunkiest person I've ever known... She would always let you know exactly what she was thinking it, when she was thinking it (OK, so this isn't always the best thing :) Especially when you're walking through Walmart, and Gram tells you EXACTLY what she thinks of the outfit of the person standing in front of you in line... But, afterall, she was only saying what I was thinking :) )  She's had a very difficult year, and I know that she is finally at peace and happy... Up until last spring, I always said that she was sharper than me... She had an incredible life, and I'm so glad I was a part of it... But I am incredibly sad... She's a pretty special lady...

This is a pic of Gram with the kids, it was taken in 2007, but the quickest one I could find this morning...
